THE FOLLOWING IS A DANVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT RELEASE
Two arrests have been made in connection with the shooting investigation from 05/17/23 where a 23-year-old Alvin, IL man was seriously injured.
During the follow-up investigation, the suspects in this case were identified as 23-year-old Kaleb Cotton of Danville and 26-year-old Bradlee Williams of Tilton, IL.
Danville Detectives learned that both Cotton and Williams had gone to the Aldi’s parking lot to meet with the victim. During the meeting, one of the suspects shot the victim and items were then taken from the victim’s person before the suspects fled the scene.
On 05/18/23 around 10:00 am, Danville Police located Cotton and Williams together in the area of the 300 block of Lynch Dr in Danville. Cotton and Williams were taken into custody and transported to the Danville Public Safety building where they are currently being held and awaiting arraignment in Vermilion County Court on charges of aggravated battery with a firearm, armed robbery, and possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. The victim in this case is still receiving treatment and currently listed in serious condition.

On 05/17/23 around 11:21pm, Danville Police responded to the parking lot of the Aldi’s Supermarket at 502 S. Gilbert St in reference to a report of shots fired in the area.
Upon arrival, officers located a 23-year-old Alvin, IL man with a gunshot wound to his abdomen. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he remains in serious condition.
Preliminary investigation revealed the victim was meeting with another man in the parking lot when the shooting occurred. Danville police are currently continuing with this investigation and following up on several leads from the public. A further update of this case will be provided as soon as more information is available for release.
The investigation into this incident continues and no other information is being released at this time.
