THE FOLLOWING IS A GREATER ILLIANA SPORTS HALL OF FAME RELEASE
DANVILLE, Ill. – May 18, 2023 – The Greater Illiana Sports Foundation (GISF) announces the Male and Female Senior Student-Athletes of the Year as nominated by their respective schools in the Greater Illiana Sports Hall of Fame coverage area. One male and one female from each state will receive a $500 scholarship to apply to their academic pursuits at the college, junior college, or trade school of their choosing.
Nominees are chosen and submitted to the GISF by each school. Nominations are then reviewed by the scholarship selection committee of the Community Foundation of East Central Illinois. Recipients of the scholarships are announced at the annual Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony in June.
