This Saturday, June 3rd, is National Trails Day. And the Vermilion County Conservation District is inviting you to Forest Glen for guided hikes; 10 AM at Beech Grove Loop or Noon at Deer Meadow Trail. Just follow signage and meet at the start of the trail. The district’s Brenna Karcher says the first one’s more family friendly, and the second one more challenging.
AUDIO: Beech Grove Loop is on an ADA accessible paved trail. So it’s a quarter-mile, and a great little opportunity for people to get out with strollers or wheelchairs. And then our Deer Meadow Trail is going to be a longer, just over a mile, hiking trail with some up hills, down hills, and uneven surfaces.
And it goes without saying; Saturday will be a hot one. So please bring water, bring sunscreen, and dress comfortably.
