THE FOLLOWING IS A CHAMPAIGN COUNTY CORONER’S OFFICE RELEASE
Champaign County Coroner Duane Northrup is releasing the identity of the male reportedly shot by police during a traffic stop in Rantoul, Illinois on June 7, 2023.
Jordan A. Richardson, age 18, of Rantoul, Illinois was pronounced dead at 1:42PM on June 7, 2023 in the Carle Foundation Hospital Emergency Department from a gunshot wound to the chest. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday, June 9, 2023 at the Champaign County Regional Morgue Facility located in Urbana, Illinois.
This death is under investigations by the Champaign County Multi-jurisidiction Investigation Team and the coroner’s office.
