Rantoul mayor Charles Smith has placed Rantoul Village Administrator and Former Danville Mayor Scott Eisenhauer on administrative leave after a Monday arrest for domestic battery.
Rantoul Police reportedly responded to an incident at Eisenhauer’s Rantoul home, and have now handed the investigation over to the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office.
The arrest is reported to be for domestic battery and interfering with the report of domestic violence.
Eisenhauer’s case is scheduled for Tuesday in Champaign County Court. Mayor Smith has released a statement encouraging victims of domestic violence, or those who know of a victim, to reach out to local police or to the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-SAFE.
