The annual Flag Day ceremonial retirement of American Flags took place Wednesday morning (June 14th) at American Legion Post 210 in Danville.
All year long, residents are encouraged to drop old American Flags inside that special mail box just to the left of Post 210’s main entrance. Incoming Commander Bob Balla says that mailbox is cleared out many times throughout the year; with the flags set aside for the next Flag Day ceremony.

Current commander Dave Morris says this proper retirement of American Flags by ceremonial burning creates a reflective moment for all who attend each year.

Bob Balla will take over for Dave Morris as Post 210 Commander on July 1st.
