The Vermilion County State’s Attorney’s Office is having their annual golf outing July 14th at Turtle Run to specifically benefit victims of crimes. State’s Attorney Jacqueline Lacy recently joined Tommy B on D102’s The Big Show.
AUDIO: It is actually our 28th Annual Victim Assistance Golf Outing. So we have specific funding, and a lot of our fundraising and all the work that the advocates do out in the community; all that money goes to support victims of violent crime.
Lucy Overlander, also from the State’s Attorney’s Office, offered some examples on how the funding is used.
AUDIO: Emergency shelter; clothing; travel, sometimes to and from court. So, it’s very important to us that the community comes out and supports us again this year.
