One year after Danville’s Arts in the Park had to fight through a weekend of rain, this year the traditional “weekend after Father’s Day in Lincoln Park” event was under very consistent sunshine. Neuhoff Media caught up to emcee Brian Schroeder just as things were getting rolling on Sunday. At that time, he was still smiling about how successful Saturday had been.

AUDIO: But most importantly, yesterday I heard the artists were very happy. They had a very successful day. All of the people in the park; they were happy, they were successful. The food vendors, we have eight food vendors this year; everybody’s having a wonderful, wonderful time.
And besides the live entertainment on stage and numerous booths of artwork and local organizations to explore, this year’s Art’s in the Park brought in more live art for visitors to view, such as a glass blower and a community paint party. Schroeder said all the new stuff was a bit hit.

AUDIO: It has been really well received. People can come here; they’re able to watch the artist make their art, and sometimes they can participate themselves to make something.
Arts in the Park ran Saturday from 10 to 5, and Sunday from 11 to 5, in Lincoln Park.
