THE FOLLOWING IS A VERMILION COUNTY CORONER’S OFFICE RELEASE
Danville, IL- The Vermilion County Coroner, Jane McFadden stated that a two vehicle accident that occurred early Tuesday evening, June 27, 2023 on State Route 49 at 3550 North Rd., in Rankin, claimed the lives of Joseph D. Stallone, age 19, and Keegynn L. Martinek, age 17, both of Paxton, IL. Police reports stated they were in a Jeep Compass driving north on Route 49.
The other driver in the Toyota, going east on Vermilion CR 3550N, is also deceased and pending identification and notification of next of kin.
Autopsies are scheduled for this week. The Illinois State Police and the Vermilion County Coroner’s office continue to investigate.
