The cleanup continues from yesterday’s severe storms that passed through Vermilion County and the surrounding region. The severe storm warning that was in effect from about 1:10 to 2:30 PM brought hard rain and extremely high winds, causing extensive damage to tree limbs, and damage to numerous homes. Ameren told Neuhoff Media that 31,000 customers were without power in Vermilion County, and 180,000 Ameren customers were without power across their Illinois service region. Power is continuing to be restored today. Remember, if you have wires down and have not reported them to Ameren, the number to call is 800-755-5000.
