THE FOLLOWING IS A SALVATION ARMY RELEASE
Vermilion County, IL. –The Salvation Army works to serve those who can benefit from food during the current power outage. Local emergency disaster response efforts have been deployed for Vermilion County. A bagged lunch will be available on Saturday, July 1st, from 12pm – 2pm, while supplies last. Those in need can drive through The Salvation Army’s parking lot at 855 E. Fairchild St. in Danville (entering Fairchild and exiting on Bowman) to receive lunch. Only While supplies last.
Volunteers are needed from 11:30am to 2pm. If you can lend a hand, please arrive by 11:30am. Volunteers are asked to call or text (if you can), (217) 607-9445. Individuals, service clubs, churches, partner agencies, and first responders can sign up for this FREE certification class and be notified of opportunities to serve as a volunteer when emergencies arise.
The Salvation Army also deployed to Vermilion County Thursday evening after the storm to deliver beverages, sandwiches, and snacks to city workers and first responders.
