You may have noticed some Yellow trucks parked at Holland Freight along Lynch Road. Tim Dudley of Vermilion Advantage says; yes, there are Vermilion County drivers affected by Yellow’s filing for bankruptcy. But even if nobody swarms in to purchase Yellow and the company completely ceases operations, Dudley says there are certainly some trucking opportunities locally, with firms that would love to have some more drivers.
AUDIO: And also, if we don’t have enough openings here, we can use American Jobs Center and the state’s Workers Displacement Act; and get these workers retrained, or find them jobs in other places. We’ve got a lot of avenues. Obviously McLane, Pencil Express, Auto Zone; and some that use truckers, I mean they’re always looking for people every day.
