Danville Area Community College Coordinator of Recruitment and Student Engagement Alexis Simmons recently told Laura Williams, on 1490 WDAN’s Community Connection program, that DACC’s first ever Back to School Block Party this Wednesday, August 9th is a chance to bring the whole community together, including students of all ages, prior to the new school year.

AUDIO: You know, we have kids in our community who aren’t going to be in college anytime soon, of course. Well, even if you’re not taking classes at DACC; it’s still a community hub and a place for people to go. So the idea was that this block party would bring the community together; and give families and individuals an entertaining night that was family friendly, and wholesome and fun, and free.
Bring some cash for the food trucks if you’d like to have some dinner while there; and then enjoy all the free items and activities.
DACC’s Back to School Block Party will be 5 to 7 PM this Wednesday, the 9th of August, in the main parking lot.
