THE FOLLOWING IS A TAPS ON TUESDAY RELEASE
Local Historian Alan Woodrum will present a program on one of the once famous, but now almost forgotten figures in Vermilion County History. According to his biography, Jesse L. Harper helped form two regiments of Indiana Infantry during the Civil War and was a farm boy, lawyer, editor, author, orator, scholar and reformer. Following the presentation, Taps will be sounded in honor of all veterans. The program will be held at the Harper family gravesite in Block 19A, beginning at 6:00 p.m.
