Starting Tuesday morning, September 5th at 8 AM in the Vermilion County Clerk’s Office, petition packets for next spring’s March 19th Primary Election will be available. County Supervisor of Elections Carrie Wilson reminds us what county positions are up in 2024.
AUDIO: This election we have open for County Auditor, County Circuit Clerk, County Recorder, and County State’s Attorney. As well as we have seats up in the County Board as well.
A total of 13 Vermilion County Board positions are up for grabs. Wilson says the County Clerk’s Office is open Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM.
Vermilion County Clerk Cathy Jenkins says some prospective candidates might wait awhile to pick up their petition packets, but most of them are usually looking to get started collecting signatures right off the bat.
AUDIO: Actually, normally they come on the first day. They get it over with. We may have a couple stragglers that come in on occasion. If they don’t have an opponent, sometimes they’ll wait a little while. But most of the time they come in first day.
The petitions can be filed anywhere between 8 AM on Monday, November 27th; through 5 PM on Monday, December 4th.
