Ingredients:
- For the Cake Mix:
- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup Cocoa
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup Hellmann’s Mayonnaise
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla
- For the Icing:
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1/4 – 1/2 cup Cocoa
Instructions:
- For the Cake Mix:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Combine flour, sugar, salt, cocoa, and baking soda in a large mixing bowl. When mixed thoroughly, add in the mayonnaise, water, and vanilla.
- Pour into a 13 x 9 inch baking pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes. Let cool.
- For the Icing:
- Blend butter and shortening together, add vanilla.
- Slowly add the powdered sugar. When mixed thoroughly, start adding cocoa. For a less chocolaty taste, add 1/4 cup of coca; for a more chocolaty taste, use up to 1/2 cup cocoa.
- Ice the cake when cooled.
- You can serve cold or room temperature!
