The overall jobs picture for both Vermilion County and Danville once again has taken a negative turn. In addition, county and city unemployment levels continued to be substantially higher than one year ago.
Vermilion County’s unemployment rate increased from 6.6% in July to 7.1% in August. Vermilion County’s rate stood two whole percentage points back, at 5.1%, in August of 2022.
The City of Danville’s unemployment rate came in at 8.4% in August, after being eight percent flat in July. Danville’s rate was way back at 6.1% in August of last year.
The Illinois Department of Employment Security says the latest numbers have not been seasonally adjusted.
