The Illinois Broadcasters Association has announced the finalists for this year’s Silver Dome Awards for Excellence in Broadcasting. Staff members from the Neuhoff Media radio stations in Danville received 15 total nominations in thirteen different award categories.
News Director Steve Brandy’s coverage of “Local Students Hatching Chicks” received a nomination for Best Radio Light Feature.
Coverage of the closing of historic schools and buildings in Danville District #118 received nominations for Best Hard News Story, and for Best Radio Series or Documentary.
Our news department was also honored with two nominations in the category of Best Local Radio Newscast
Outside our news department, Neuhoff Media Danville also received a nomination in the category of Best Radio Station Use of Non-Broadcasts Media for the DHS Future Problem Solvers Podcast series.
The March Forth Moments are nominated in the category of Best Radio Series or Documentary.
A commercial for Jocko’s restaurant titled “Scary Good Pizza” received two nominations … for Best Single Radio Commercial and for Best Commercial Produced On Behalf of an Advertiser.
A PSA for “The Human Library” received a nomination for Best Radio PSA for Local Charity/Cause.
Our coverage of the 2022 United Way Radiothon received two nominations. For Best Radio Station Community Service, and for Best Continuing Coverage.
Neuhoff Media staff members also received nominations in individual categories:
Best Sportscaster: RJ Crace received his fourth consecutive nomination, having won the award in 2021 & 2022.
Best Radio News Reporter: News Director Steve Brandy
Best Radio Personality: D102’s Tommy B for “Tommy B’s Big Show.” He has a previous win in 2019.
A nomination for a Silver Dome Award means the entry is among the top three in its category in Small Market Radio in Illinois.
The winners will be announced October 24th at the IBA’s Annual Meeting in Normal, IL.
