(October 12, 2023 | DANVILLE, Illinois) – OSF HealthCare continues to recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month through care, support and education.
On Monday, October 16, Dr. Jomel Labayog, oncologist at OSF Hegeler Cancer Center in Danville, Illinois, will speak at the New Horizons cancer support group in Danville.Dr. Labayog will talk about the importance of screening and prevention, advances in treatment, and resources available for breast cancer patients in East Central Illinois.
Experts say one in eight women will get breast cancer, but the disease is overwhelmingly curable when found early. That’s why it’s important to know your risk factors, perform a monthly self-check, and get on a mammogram schedule as advised by your health care provider.
