Toys for Tots Gets Strong Response at John Zarn Kickoff; Work has Only Begun

Toys for Tots of the Danville, IL Area was having their now traditional John Zarn Memorial Kickoff; Friday October 13th in front of Courtesy Dodge on Main Street.  And right before lunchtime, coordinator Megan Montgomery said the response was already very impressive.

AUDIO: This is the most activity we’ve had for our kickoff drive.  I mean this is our third year, so this is definitely bigger than it has been.  We’re taking that as a positive.

One of the new coordinators this year is United States Marines Sergeant Johnathan Hooker.  As honking cars were going by, Sergeant Hooker said he felt good about the entire Danville Toys for Tots region; which serves Vermilion County in Illinois, along with Fountain and Warren Counties in Indiana.

AUDIO: It feels pretty good.  I think Danville really has something here, and I think we can help out the whole community.  It’s been an honor to do this.  I know it’s been a tradition for a long time, and I hope we can carry this on forward.

Once again, Santa Claus was there.  He says, plenty of children in the Danville region for Toys for Tots will need help, so please join the team.

AUDIO: It’s been a real tough year for kids, and they need all the help they can get.  Toys for Tots is one organization that really steps up and helps the kids that need it the most.  People are getting into the Christmas spirit, and stepping up and doing the right thing.
