Showcasing a unique blend of Afro-Mexican sounds, hip-hop, and folk music, “Hasta La Muerte.” is more than just a musical showcase. The 2 act narrative, deeply rooted in folkloric and Indigenous traditions, presents a harmonious blend of soul-stirring original compositions and reimagined classics, including ‘La Llorona’, ‘El Cascabel’, ‘La Bruja’, ‘Amor Eterno’, and ‘La Morena’. Renowned for their association with Dia de los Muertos events, the LA locals channeled the introspection of the pandemic to craft this theatrical gem. Their vision is ambitious and clear: to elevate “Hasta La Muerte” as a distinguished theatrical brand, creating an experience that deeply resonates and captivates audiences with its rich blend of drama, music, and dance.
The 2023-2024 run of shows is poised to be an unparalleled theatrical odyssey, with performances scheduled in cities like Chandler, AZ on 10/20, Tucson, AZ on 10/21, and several more throughout the fall.
“Through songs, theater, and dance, “Hasta La Muerte” is a work that reflects the stories of Latino communities and is a testament to the power of storytelling as a form of processing grief and sharing love with those in the beyond,” said Hector Flores, the creative mind behind the show. Hector Flores, who lost his father at the young age of 54, said, “As I grow older, I understand how important grieving is as well as celebrating the life they had and everything they left behind. I imagined Hasta La Muerte as an opportunity to help process what loss is and imagine what my father’s journey could have been into the afterlife. Death is not the end, it is just the beginning.” His words resonate deeply with the show’s central message: Love, not sadness, allows us to celebrate and remember those that have gone and remember that “death is not the end, it is just the beginning.”

“A través de canciones, teatro y baile, ‘Hasta La Muerte’ es una obra que refleja las historias de las comunidades latinas y es un testimonio del poder de la narrativa como una forma de procesar el duelo y compartir amor con aquellos en el más allá”, expresó Hector Flores, la mente creativa detrás del espectáculo. Hector Flores, quien perdió a su padre a la joven edad de 54 años, dijo, “A medida que envejezco, entiendo la importancia del duelo, así como celebrar la vida que tuvieron y todo lo que dejaron atrás. Imaginé Hasta La Muerte como una oportunidad para ayudar a procesar lo que es la pérdida y imaginar el viaje que pudo haber tenido mi padre hacia el más allá. La muerte no es el final, es solo el comienzo”. Sus palabras resuenan profundamente con el mensaje central del espectáculo: El amor, no la tristeza, nos permite celebrar y recordar a aquellos que se han ido y recordar que “la muerte no es el final, es solo el comienzo”.
