Out now is “Christmas Classics New & Old,” a holiday set from Creed/Alter Bridge guitarist Mark Tremonti. The set features 10 songs sung in the same style as 2022's “Tremonti Sings Frank Sinatra” and includes an original, “Christmas Morning,” as well as a cover of Donny Hathaway's “This Christmas.” Tremonti tells us that he hopes to see his recordings become staples of the holiday season along with other favorites he's enjoyed over the years:
“I want it to become part of everybody's Christmas season, something they remember from when they were kids. That would be the most incredible thing to ever happen, I think. When I recorded the record my first thought was, 'I'm so glad I have a record my kids can grow up listening to and they'll remember dad fondly when they hear this record when I'm long gone.” :24 OC: I'm long gone.
Tremonti worked on “Christmas Classics…” with his Sinatra collaborator Carey Deadman and many of the musicians who worked on the previous album.
Tremonti will perform a special “Mark Tremonti Sings Sinatra – Christmas Special” concert on December 16th in Orlando, Fla., with proceeds supporting the Downs Syndrome Care Center he started in partnership with AdventHealth.
Tremonti also has three Sinatra shows booked for the new year: January 5th in Atlantic City, New Jersey; January 6th in Hackensack, New Jersey; and January 13th in Beverly Hills, California.
Tremonti is currently on the road with Alter Bridge in South America, wrapping up November 13th in Santiago, Chile.
Tremonti is rejoining Creed, meanwhile, for the Summer of '99 cruise in April and then a Summer of '99 tour, Creed's first in 12 years, that kicks off July 17th in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
