On Wednesday, November 15th; in recognition of both National Week of Hunger and Hopelessness and Homeless Awareness Month; Crosspoint Human Services will be holding what has become an annual event in the Crosspoint at the Y building at 201 North Hazel.
Crosspoint’s Director of Programs Cher Pollock recently joined Laura Williams on 1490 WDAN’s Community Connection program, explaining how the tradition of this special luncheon began back in 2008.

AUDIO: My Coordinator of Housing, Linda McLaughlin, had an idea to have a lunch for the homeless, or those in need of a hot meal. And she took it to our local Continuum of Care, which is about 10 to 12 other agencies that deal with the homeless.
This will be from 11 AM to 2 PM this Wednesday (Nov 15th), in the Crosspoint at the Y gym at 201 North Hazel. Soup, sandwiches, desserts, and more will be available. Pollock says this is open to the public; and that anyone who is homeless or in need of a hot meal should attend. Clothing and personal hygiene giveaways will be on hand as well, as all members of the local Continuum of Care are scheduled to attend. About 200 people were served last year.
