THE FOLLOWING IS A DANVILLE FIRE DEPARTMENT RELEASE
Danville firefighters were dispatched to a reported structure fire early Friday morning at 428 Harmon St. Firefighters arrived to find the building heavily enveloped in fire. Firefighters immediately searched the areas of the residence not involved in fire before taking a defensive position outside the structure to extinguish the fire.
A female occupant who was in the residence at the time the fire occurred escaped without injury. The Red Cross was notified to assist the occupant.
An excavator was brought to the scene to assist firefighters with the safe extinguishment of the fire.
Fire suppression units remained on scene until 10:32 AM.
