Description of Structure/Property: 1-story, wooden frame home (Vacant)
Description of Incident:
On Monday, November 27, 2023, Danville Firefighters arrived at 2009 E. Main Street, and the one-story, wooden frame home was fully enveloped in fire. Early reports from a bystander were that someone had been inside. After controlling the fire, firefighters conducted a search, and no one was found to be inside the building. The building did not have any electric or gas service and was believed to be vacant.
Ameren assisted firefighters by removing a downed power line in the yard.
Firefighters remained on scene until 10:41 PM.
Fire Cause: The Danville Fire Department is investigating the cause of the fire. The cause of the fire remains undetermined.
No injuries were reported.
Smoke Alarm Status: Smoke Detector(s): No working detectors present.
