THE FOLLOWING IS A DANVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT RELEASE
The Danville Police Department in partnership with the Illinois Liquor Control Commission conducted business checks of the sale of alcohol to underage patrons in the month of December. The checks were completed due to recent complaints. During the controlled operation, 4 City of Danville liquor establishments sold alcohol to underage patrons.
The businesses that sold were:
⦁ Sunshine Liquors 2013 East Main St., Danville
⦁ O’Brien’s Corner Tavern 800 East Main St., Danville
⦁ Main Package 732 East Main St., Danville
⦁ My Brother’s Cut Rate Liquor 536 East Main St., Danville
The Danville Police Department values the safety and quality of life of our underage citizens and will continue to hold businesses accountable for their part in that safety. Working with our community to educate and enhance the quality of life is part of our mission and we will continue that partnership. Each business that allowed the sale of alcohol was issued a State of Illinois violation by the Illinois Liquor Control Commission and each employee who sold the alcohol was issued a Danville City violation. Any business or employee who was issued a citation will have the right to a hearing to plead their innocence until proven guilty in a court setting.
There were 7 City of Danville liquor establishments that complied during the controlled alcohol checks. The Danville Police Department would like to commend those businesses for their partnership and high standards.
