The Vermilion County War Museum is remaining closed for renovations for a few more weeks. The museum’s Larry Weatherford says there are loads of wonderful volunteers helping with all the deep cleaning and organizing; but so many new attractions are being added, that they decided to take their time, and make sure everything is in place upon reopening.
AUDIO: We’ll have the newly completed Medal of Honor Room, featuring mannequins with uniforms and headwear, like they would have worn at the time. And the story of each of the dozen Medal of Honor recipients with ties to Vermilion County. Our media room is also nearing completion, with our 85 inch screen monitor going up this week.
Weatherford says there will also be an “Interview Corner,” where Veterans will be able to tell their stories on video.
The Vermilion County War Museum’s reopening date is now set for Saturday, March 2nd.
