Description of Structure/Property: 2-1/2 story, wooden framed home (Vacant)
Alarm Location/Address: 20 S. Griffin Street
Description of Incident:
On Thursday, March 28, 2024, the Danville Fire Department was dispatched to a report of smoke coming from a building at 20 S. Griffin Street. Firefighters arrived to find smoke coming from the 1st and 2nd floor of the building. Firefighters were sent into the building to investigate. A small fire was located on the first floor of the building and was quickly extinguished by firefighters.
Firefighters then proceeded to perform a search of the building. While performing that search a second fire was discovered on the second floor of the building. Firefighters were again able to extinguish the fire quickly. Firefighters remained on scene to remove smoke from the building and check for any remaining fire.

Fire Cause: Undetermined. The fire is under investigation by the Danville Fire Department.
