A large ground solar energy system is being proposed for a former landfill site on Danville’s south side. The Danville Area Planning and Zoning Commission is meeting Thursday, April 4th, to consider the request for a special use permit for the City of Danville for the project.
The site is along Highland Boulevard and Greenwood Cemetery Road.
The meeting begins at 5:15 p.m. Thursday in the Council Chambers at the Robert E. Jones Municipal Building at 17 West Main Street.
The City of Danville’s Urban Services Division found that placing a large-scale ground solar energy system in the area would not adversely affect property values or living conditions in the area.
