Danville Community Development Administrator Logan Cronk says yes, the Roma Italian Restaurant sign is indeed up; at Danville’s Days Hotel, northeast of Gilbert and Main. There’s still some work to be done, but Cronk says the hope is that this will be a permanent replacement for a restaurant at this hotel location. Cronk says many are familiar with what it was two establishments ago.
Audio PlayerAUDIO: Most people would know that it was called Whipper Snapper’s. And then, I believe, the hotel tried to function another restaurant for a short time, and that closed as well. They are not open yet. The sign went up over the weekend. The building officials have been through the building as of today (Monday April 1st). They’re going to have a couple minor improvements.
Cronk says the city has not been given a definite opening date, but he doesn’t look for it to be too long, since there had been the other restaurant briefly between Whipper Snapper’s and the new Roma Italian.
