THE FOLLOWING IS AN ILLINOIS STATE HOUSE RADIO RELEASE
With the announcement this week of the closing of the Quaker Oats facility in Danville, State Representative Brandun Schweizer (R-Danville) took to the House floor Thursday to ask his colleagues on both sides of the aisle to keep the families affected by the closing in their prayers. Attached are his comments.
Audio PlayerAUDIO: As the representative for Danville, I just want to ask all of you to please keep those that are affected by the closing of Quaker Oats in your prayers; 510 jobs to the community of Danville. If you look at the average salary in Illinois, it’s about $40,000. So, multiply that by over 510, and you’re getting about $20 million to a small town community that is just going to be devastated by the loss of this. So, I just ask that you all keep them in your prayers while they’re going through this hard time. Thank you.
