ABOVE: Chuck Jones (left), the director of Vermilion County Works, met with the Danville Noon Rotary on Mon., Apr. 8 to give members an update on the Apr. 3 Quaker Oats plant closing and State’s “Rapid Response” plans to support the 510 dislocated workers. Through the DACC-managed American Job Center, VCW is teaming up with service agencies that include the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, the Department of Employment Security, Human Services Public Assistance, and seven social-service and education agencies. Mr. Jones said this this is “our time to shine” in addressing the needs of these workers and their families.
