Later this month; on Saturday, April 27th; the It Takes a Village Mentorship will be hosting a Leadership Conference for 5th and 6th graders at South View Upper Elementary School. Pastor LeStan Hoskins says this will be from 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM, with breakfast and lunch included. Community and local business leaders will be there to talk to the youngsters about what they’ll need for real success.
AUDIO: We’re going to have games that the kids can play, competitive games. Each kid is going to get a T-shirt; a swag bag with certain items in it. And it’s going to be a time for them to just interact with several business owners, ask questions; and we want to inspire them to be the best that they can be. And I think this is going to be an opportunity for us to do that, and engage with South View students in our school district.
Pastor LeStan Hoskins has hosted previous events in District 118, such as with U of I football players in February of 2023.
Cost to attend will be $20, but there will also be sponsorships available for those who would like to help a youngster attend this event, when he or she may not be able to without assistance. So if you have a youngster you’d like to have attend this, or if you want more information about the event as a possible sponsor, please go to the It Takes a Village Mentorship Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/p/It-Takes-a-Village-Mentorship-on Facebook.
Pastor Hoskins says assistance with transportation from will be available as well.
