An important annual event for this area is coming up Friday evening, and tickets are still available. The East Central Illinois Community Action Agency will be holding their 59th Annual Business Meeting and Fundraising Dinner; this Friday evening, April 26th, in the New Life Banquet Center at 1419 North Bowman. The silent auction begins at 5 PM, and the program and dinner begin at 6 PM.
The theme for this year’s Annual Dinner is “Progressive Empowerment.” And ECICAA Chief Executive Officer Odette Hyatt-Watson says those in attendance will not only hear important testimonials from those who benefitted from the agency in transitioning out of a life of poverty, but also from an important voice talking about how to benefit even more people; within the Vermilion, Iroquois, and Ford County areas. That voice will be former Danville resident Roger Pavey, who leads the Illinois Association of Community Action Agencies as President and CEO. Odette Hyatt-Watson says he’ll be speaking a lot about “where do we go from here?”
