Danville’s new Garfield Park Pool, now being renamed as the “Danville Aquatics Center at Garfield Park,” will now hopefully be opening right at the end of May on the 31st. During Tuesday evening’s Danville City Council Public Services Committee meeting, City Engineer Sam Cole said yes, it’s very challenging putting all the pieces in place down the stretch. But they WILL get there.

Public Services Director David Ruwe says one thing for sure; the city is putting together a great team. He specifically cited Health and Wellness Manager Jessica Lively.

The Public Services Committee passed on to the full council Ruwe’s proposal of having an $8 daily pass for those four and older for the first year, residents and non-residents. Those three and under will get in for free, and a 10 visit punch pass for $70 will be available as well.
