THE FOLLOWING IS A CITY OF DANVILLE RELEASE
The City of Danville would like to announce that Norfolk Southern Railroad has informed them they will have complete closures at the roadway crossings for construction maintenance of their tracks. Beginning Monday, May 20, 2024, a number of street crossings along the Norfolk Southern Railroad will be closed to traffic while the crossings are having upgraded rail maintenance.
The following scheduled street crossings impacted by these closures are:
• Pries Street
• Martin Street
• Van Buren Street
• South Street
• 3rd Street
The work may extend across several of the crossings at one time and each is anticipated to last up to 2 days. Motorists should use caution around the work zone and choose an alternate route.
