THE FOLLOWING IS A DANVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT RELEASE
Members of the Danville Police Department Problem-Oriented Policing Unit were in the unit block of South State Street on Tuesday evening at about 8:00 p.m. During proactive patrol, officers made contact with three subjects in that area. This interaction led to one subject fleeing from officers on foot who was eventually taken into custody.
After further investigation, officers recovered two illegal firearms and arrested three subjects. 20-year-old Elrico Donelson of Danville was charged with Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon. 30-year-old Raymond Collins of Danville was charged with Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Possession of a Firearm with No FOID by a Convicted Felon. 20-year-old Rajohntae Tyler of Urbana was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon, Unlawful Use of a Weapon being a Machine Gun, Aggravated Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, and Obstructing and Resisting a Peace Officer.
