Marron too said, “we’re trying to get answers from PepsiCo” on the condition of the facility and make a determination to move forward to market it as is or create a plan for actually getting the site in order to demolish the current facility. That too would be to market a cleared property and prep it for another industry, he said.
“It’s in the early planning stages,” he said of any future plans.
The plant at 1703 E. Voorhees St. opened in 1969, and its products included Quaker Chewy Bars, Quaker ready-to-eat cereals, and Aunt Jemima pancake mix. It became part of PepsiCo in 2001.
