This past school year’s Danville High School Future Problem Solvers team is coming home with two titles for their work in 2023-2024. They earned Senior CmPS International Grand Champion Honors, in addition to receiving the Excellence in Project Management Award. The international competition was in Bloomington, IN; and the team stopped by Congresswoman Robin Kelly’s Office in Washington, D.C. prior to their arrival in Indiana University in Bloomington. They also earned state champions honors in April.
The Future Problem Solvers are a competitive team that identifies problems, and works on finding solutions. Previous projects have included building special gardens for Veterans, and uplifting the teachers in our area with various activities and recognition.
This past school year, they created something new right within the Danville High School walls. They modified a classroom into a College and Career Readiness Lab, designed to help students prepare for their futures. For this first year of Project Future Forward, the main goal was giving students extra resources to look into college opportunities; from ACT and SAT preparation; to going through FAFSA, and everything else that involves applying to college.
This past school year’s DHS Future Problem Solvers team members included Isaiah Easton, Cole Montel, Colton Stahl, Cameron Feuerborn, Eric Biggs, Cora Helferich, Kendall Rannebarger, Bailee Easton, Maya Hale, Avery Gragert, Maia Roberson. Also on the team, but unable to attend the competition at Indiana University; were Macy Musgrave, Matthew Sherman, Diya Patel, and Ainsley McLaughlin.
