July 1: Teen Movie Mondays. Every Monday we will show a movie in Teen Zone and have popcorn! Teens can suggest and vote on which movie we watch. 4 pm – 6 pm.
July 1: Children’s Wonder Garden Club. Weekly gardening event for children and families. 9:30 -10:30 AM in the 1st Floor Meeting Room. This program is made possible through a partnership with the University of Illinois Extension Office.
July 2: Teen Tabletop Tuesdays. Stop by the Teen Zone on Tuesdays to play board/card games and eat snacks! Tuesdays from 4 pm – 6 pm in the Teen Zone.
July 2: Tween It! Tuesdays. Fun programs for tweens each Tuesday. This week: BINGO! Come play Bingo and win prizes. 4:30 pm in the Children’s Room. Ages 8-12.
July 2: Wee Wigglers Story Time. Join us for action rhymes, stories, and songs for children ages 5 and under—Tuesdays at 10:00 am in the 1st Floor Meeting Room.
July 3: The Consult. An opportunity for your business to get advice over coffee from a consortium of business leaders; both current and retired, willing to share their knowledge. People from all over the business community are inviting you to engage them for advice in a relaxed atmosphere. No pressure, no sales pitch, just a resource for you to access, absolutely free. Starts at 8:00 a.m. in the 1st Floor Meeting Room.
July 3: Rainbow Playgroup. Socialization, play, and STEAM activities for toddlers. Wednesdays 10 am- 11 am. Children’s Room.
July 3: Dungeons & Dragons. A tabletop role-playing game that allows teens to quest for treasures and fame, or at the very least hunt enemies. This program is for teens, both those new to the game and those who already know the best way to cleave an orc. New players are always welcome! Wednesdays at 4 pm in the Teen Zone.
July 3: Team STEAM. Activities designed to help students foster creativity and boost critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Wednesdays from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm in the 1st Floor Meeting Room.
July 3: Wordy Wednesdays. Puzzle lovers, mark your calendars! Every Wednesday, head on up to the 2nd-floor Reference Desk for a variety of word puzzles. Available anytime during our regular business hours.
July 4: Closed for Independence Day.
July 6: Hear It, See It, Make It, Take It: Sensory Story Time. Sensory programs are designed for youth of various ability levels including differently-abled youth—Saturdays at 11 am in the Children’s Programming Room.
Coloring Contest for all ages: Color a picture and win a prize. Return entries by the end of the month. Entries will be displayed in the Children’s Room. Winners will be notified. Weekly Crafts. Drop by for fun crafts in the children’s department. Available Monday through Thursday from 8 am-6:30 pm and Fri-Sat 8 am-4 pm. New craft each week! This week: July 4th handprints/necklaces/Statue of Liberty.
