THE FOLLOWING IS A TAPS ON TUESDAY RELEASE
The June 25th Taps on Tuesday program at Historic Spring Hill Cemetery’s Soldiers Circle will focus on the “Deadliest Day for Vermilion, Champaign and Iroquois Counties in the Civil War: June 27, 1864.” Many members of the 125th and 86th Illinois Infantry were from those counties and are buried at Spring Hill Cemetery and at cemeteries throughout East Central Illinois. Taps on Tuesday is presented by the Vermilion County War Museum and the Ward Hill Lamon Civil War Roundtable at 6:00 p.m. each Tuesday through the day after Labor Day.
