The 2024 Vermilion County Fair got into full swing on Wednesday at the Vermilion County Fairgrounds west of Danville, and one of the first orders of business was to crown a new Queen.
Eight women from Vermilion County competed for the title, and at the end of the competition a twenty-one year old Hoopeston woman had earned the crown.
The 2024 Vermilion County Fair Queen is Macy Hayes, a senior at SIU, who is the daughter of Teresa Hayes.
1st runner-up is Haley Carlton of Georgetown.
2nd runner-up is Lilly Meeker of Westville.
In competitions held earlier in the day, the Little Miss is Tenley Buyno, and the Jr. Miss is Gabrielle Zambezi
