AUDIO: (What’s your name, please?) My name is Ryder. (What do you like about this place?) Um, probably the food. (What have you eaten so far?) Nothing yet, but I plan on getting some good food. (What’s your name?) Amy. (What do you like, Amy?) I like the rides, I like the food, I like everything! (Yes!)
And also come Friday evening, both participants and spectators were gathering for remote control racing, right at the start/finish line of the old Vermilion County Speedway. Germantown Raceway owner Mike Pollitt was in his second year of bringing RC racing to the County Fair.
AUDIO: It’s catching on a lot better this year. We’ve got a lot more people out here this year. The interest has grown; our track experience of building it has gotten better. We’ve got a lot better surface to race on this year.
Politt said they worked from Monday to Friday morning to build the RC racetrack, using good old Vermilion County Speedway clay.
