The Vermilion County Coroner’s Office has identified the body pulled from the Vermilion River around 12:20 PM this past Friday (July 19th) as 12-year-old Christopher D. London of Danville. London had disappeared while swimming in the river around 8 PM on Monday, July 15th. The two companions he was with contacted police right afterwards, and multiple parties were involved in a search throughout last week. London’s body was found about 1/4 mile downstream from where he had first disappeared near Commercial Street.
Coroner Jane McFadden’s release stated that an autopsy was conducted on Saturday (July 20th), and that no foul play is suspected.
