(August 2, 2024 | Danville, Illinois) – OSF HealthCare Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville, Illinois, has named J.T. Barnhart its next permanent president. Barnhart has been serving as interim president after the resignation of Ned Hill in July. Barnhart will continue to serve as president of OSF HealthCare Heart of Mary Medical Center in Urbana, Illinois.

“I have enjoyed getting to know the Danville community and look forward to continuing to learn about how we can meet the area’s health care needs,” said Barnhart. “OSF Sacred Heart has made tremendous strides in recent years in improving patient experience, quality and stewardship. We remain committed to that pursuit.”Barnhart has been with OSF since February 2023. He is a veteran of health care administration, most recently holding leadership positions at health systems in Tennessee and Texas. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and health care management from Appalachian State University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Central Florida.

Deb McCarter
In addition, Deb McCarter has been named the next permanent vice president and chief nursing officer at OSF Sacred Heart. McCarter will continue to serve in the same position at OSF Heart of Mary. McCarter has been with OSF since 2020.
