THE FOLLOWING IS A DANVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT RELEASE
Danville Police Officers responded to the 1000 block of Franklin around 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday for the report of multiple shots in the area. When officers arrived they located and stopped several subjects in the area who matched descriptions reported by witnesses as being involved in the incident.
During the investigation, a Danville K9 Officer and his partner searched an overgrown empty lot in the area and located a firearm, believed to be used during the incident. Further investigation developed a search warrant for a residence in the 1000 block of Franklin St. Officers recovered another firearm while searching that home.
19-year-old Jeremiah Parrish of Danville was arrested and booked on charges of unlawful use of a weapon. Officers arrested 6 juveniles from the incident ages 13, 14, 16, and 17. They were all charged with weapons offenses.
The Danville Police Department reminds the public that all subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
