THE FOLLOWING IS A DANVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT RELEASE
On Tuesday morning, 8/20/24 at about 12:15 a.m. Danville Police Officers responded to the 1100 block of Chandler Street after receiving 911 calls of shots being fired in that area. Officer arrived on the scene and located several shell casings in the roadway.
In the 1300 block of Chandler officers located a 30-year-old Danville man seated in a white vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound. The subject was transported to a local hospital where he is currently listed in serious condition.
Witnesses in the area reported hearing numerous gunshots and seeing a dark vehicle quickly leave the area of the scene after shots were fired.
