THE FOLLOWING IS A DANVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT RELEASE
Danville Police Officers and Vermilion County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 1000 block of Franklin St on Tuesday evening around 9:00 p.m. after hearing gunshots while on patrol.
Officers arrived and located a crime scene where they learned several shots were fired between two different addresses in that block. It was discovered that houses and vehicles were struck with bullets. The Illinois State Police Crime Scene Unit responded to assist.
A 17-year-old juvenile was transported to a local hospital by a personal vehicle from the shooting scene. The victim was eventually transported to another hospital where he is currently listed in stable condition. This is an ongoing investigation and no other information is being released at this time. Further information will be released upon discovery.
