Danville, IL — September 20, 2024 — The United Way of Danville Area is excited to announce the official kickoff of its 2024-2025 fundraising campaign with an all-day Radiothon on Friday, October 4. The event, hosted by Tommy B of D102, Central Illinois Media Group, will run from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and be held at both County Market locations—North Vermilion in Danville and South Gilbert (Rt 1) in Tilton.
The Radiothon will be a celebration of community spirit and generosity, as United Way works toward its ambitious goal of raising $500,000 to support critical programs and services in Vermilion County. In addition to collecting pledges and donations, United Way will also be gathering food donations for the Food for the Children Program, which provides meals to children in need.
“We are thrilled to kick off this year’s campaign with such an exciting event,” said Angie Lazzell, CEO of United Way of Danville Area. “The Radiothon is not just about raising money—it’s about bringing our community together to support initiatives that make a real difference. Whether it’s donating, pledging, or simply stopping by to say hello, we hope everyone will join us in making this campaign our most successful yet.”
Listeners can tune in to hear inspiring stories from United Way partners and learn more about new initiatives like Food for the Children and Ride United Last Mile Delivery. Donors will have the opportunity to make a pledge during the Radiothon, online at www.unitedwayda.org, or in person at either County Market location.
