A special program at the Fischer Theatre this Thursday (October 3rd) evening will focus upon the stigma of addiction, with a very important message from guest speaker Nathan Harmon. The Vermilion County Recovery Oriented System of Care (ROSC) Council will be sponsoring this event. ROSC Executive Director Jim Russell says Nathan’s message will be from the heart.
AUDIO: He is in recovery from substance use disorder. He was involved in a car crash that involved drinking and driving. He’s been through several different types of challenges in his personal life. So he it wanting to try to, first of all, encourage people not to get involved in substance use or abuse in the first place.
And then, of course, to understand the sickness of addiction and remove the stigma. This program at the Fischer Theatre on Thursday evening will be 6 to 7 PM, with doors opening at 5:30.
